The Grumley Project began through a personal recommendation from the clients' parents, who have been long-standing customers of ours for many years. Having built a trusted relationship with the family over time, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with Jennifer and her family to transform some of the most important spaces within their home.

From the initial consultation, it was clear this project was about more than simply supplying a kitchen, bathroom and utility room. The clients had specific requirements and wanted reassurance that we could remain within budget whilst creating spaces that would not only function better for their family, but become rooms they would genuinely love spending time in.

Working closely with the family throughout, we provided fully designed solutions for the kitchen, utility room and bathroom - coordinating architects, merchants and multiple trades to take the project from concept through to completion.

CREATING THE HEART OF THE HOME

We strongly believe the kitchen is the heart of every home, where families come together and everyday living happens. Rather than removing the property's original chimney breast and fireplace, we saw an opportunity to embrace it, transforming it into a practical appliance station with additional electrical provision, blending traditional character with modern functionality.

The centre island became the hub of the design, incorporating the sink and cleverly concealed pop-up power sockets within the worktop, creating an efficient workflow for food preparation, cooking and entertaining.

A UTILITY ROOM DESIGNED FOR BUSY FAMILY

With children, muddy boots, outdoor activities and what Jennifer described as "never-ending washing", the utility room needed to work hard for a busy family. We designed a multifunctional utility and boot room, with dedicated areas for outdoor footwear and clothing, plus hidden storage including concealed ironing facilities and pull-out storage systems, practical and organised, without looking cluttered.

BRINGING THE BATHROOM VISION TO LIFE

Jennifer had a clear vision for the bathroom, having already selected her preferred colour palette and style direction. Working closely with her and coordinating the relevant trades, we brought that vision to life with quality materials, thoughtful lighting and practical layout planning, delivering a relaxing, elegant space that works for the demands of family life.

THE OUTCOME

The Grumley family now have a home that functions far better for the way they live. By overseeing the architects, merchants and trades involved throughout, we ensured the project remained on track, within budget and true to the client's vision from start to finish, three expertly designed spaces the family will continue to enjoy for years to come.
